Live History brings its interactive historical presentations to the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre once again.

The Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre (NORMHC) is bringing to life local history as it brings Live History to Capreol.

Live History is a theatre company that specializes in bringing local history to life through customized interactive presentations incorporating elements of live theatre, questing and escape room experience, said a news release from the museum. “Passengers – An Interactive Adventure in Time” will take place on Saturday, Oct. 16 and Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021 from 12-5 p.m. at the museum house at 26 Bloor St.

Live History has performed throughout Canada and has toured international venues in Australia, New Zealand, Bermuda, England, Wales and Ireland.

“We are thrilled to have this world-class theatrical production joining us again this year,” said Joanne Bowers, chief administrative officer at NORMHC. “Bringing the museum to life creates a unique experience for visitors of all ages to enjoy.”

The presentation promises to engage participants as they work alongside actors through a series of puzzles, quests and interactions.

“The Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre was an amazing host in 2020 and we can’t wait to return to bring these historic personalities to life for a second time,” said Jasmine Bowen of Live History.

The story behind the interactive experience is as follows: Every year at this time, there seems to be strange occurrences around the museum. Items are out of place, doors are left open, people who speak of the past wander the streets. The exhibits of the museum have come to life, and they aren’t sure why. Your mission will be to assist these characters from the past. If you can help discover what brought them to life, perhaps you can help them find their place in the world. Each of these characters were important to the town’s past, and each has a unique story to tell.

For a full experience, be sure to spend as much time as possible with each one. Participants are usually given one hour to complete their quest.

To comply with the NORMHC’s COVID-19 procedures, timed tickets can be reserved by calling the museum at 705-858-5050 or email us at [email protected].
