Accordion player and photographer Suzanne Racicot died Aug. 22. She was diagnosed with metastatic breast seven years ago.

Racicot was told she only had three years to live when doctors diagnosed her in the spring of 1995. She beat those odds and as recently as this spring released a new CD, Reprise.

?Immediately following my cancer diagnosis, I began to regain my passion for the same music I played as a child.

Before long I was playing like I could never have dreamed,? said Racicot in an interview with Northern Life earlier this year.

Racicot, 46, leaves family and friends to remember her in their thoughts, memories and through the music she so lovingly created.

In lieu of flowers, her family is asking friends to make a donation to breast cancer research through the Heart & Soul cancer services campaign.
