Gary Quig, a former unit president for the office, technical and professional unit at Inco Ltd., is the new president of Local 2020 of the United Steelworkers of America. Quig captured 66 per cent of the vote in the four-person race. Local 202 is an amalgamated local representing 52 units in Sudbury, Parry Sound and North Bay.

Béchard worked previously at Science North and Collège Boréal. Béchard completed an MBA from Queen?s University and has a journalism diploma from Canadore College.
