Need a career lift? Cambrian offering mine hoist training this winter

Cambrian College is offering six courses through its corporate training department that are designed to make sure those working in mining get the lift they need to reach higher in their careers.

The courses focus on the various aspects of mine hoist operation. Each of the courses will bolster the skills and qualifications of those looking to advance their careers in mining.

“We’re working with industry and we’ve made sure that all of our training courses starting in January meet the demands of industry and especially the millwrights, heavy duty mechanics, electricians, supervisors, and anyone associated with hoist maintenance,” said Kim Lair, Director of Ancillary Business Operations at Cambrian College, in a press release.

“The skills they will learn in this course will follow them to any mining operation, across Canada or internationally.”

Courses start in January and continue through the end of March 2020. All registered participants are required to attend the January Overview course as a pre-requisite.

  • March 26-27    Ropes & Attachments 

Cambrian is also planning to offer the courses in a separate block, beginning in April.
