The Cristina Care Fund-NCF committee has been busy organizing the fifth annual Cristina’s Coffee House that will be held on a new night, Friday, March 24, 2017, at the Caruso Club.

It will be an evening of music, dance, sweet treats, a silent auction and much more, said a news release.

The Cristina’s Coffee House raises money for the Cristina Care Fund-NCF that helps cancer patients who must travel for cancer treatment.

Since 2013, the Cristina Care Fund-NCF has raised $70,000, and helped 68 cancer patients on their journey of hope, and outfitted 5W BMT floor at the Ottawa General Hospital with TVs for their inpatient and outpatient rooms.

Patients from all across the country travel to the Ottawa General Hospital for live-saving stem cell transplants.

Cristina Faiella Roque spent countless hours on the road with her family throughout her four-year battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Although there are travel grants available, the costs incurred in lodging, gas and food can be a tremendous strain on families. It was with this in mind that Cristina’s family and friends decided to hold an annual fundraising event in celebration of her giving spirit.

“Join us as we celebrate cancer patients who have been on their journey and give hope to the many others that have just started out.”

Tickets for the fifth annual Cristina's Coffee House are $25. For more information, contact the Northern Cancer foundation by phoning 705-523-4673 or or Fran Roque, committee chair, at 705-524-3316.
