In a move that has pleased both the company and the union, Inco's Ontario operations will now have a president based in Sudbury.

Australian Mark Cutifani will fill the president on Ontario operations post, which has been vacant since Ron Aelick took over Canada and United Kingdom operations about three years ago.

United Steelworkers of America Local 6500 president John Fera praised the move. The union has traditionally accused the company of ?micro-managing? from Toronto, he said.

The company had been filling the gap with an altered management structure, according to spokesman Cory McPhee.
