No active forest fires burning in the northeast

With summer just around the corner, it means forest fire season has returned for another year.

As of May 18, there are no active fires burning in the Northeast Region. 

The current fire hazard ranges from low to high across the northeast, with Greater Sudbury and areas to the southeast presenting the highest hazard.

You can check the current fire situation anytime by visiting the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s interactive map

Fire numbers and online information:

To report a forest fire located north of the French and Mattawa rivers, please dial 310-FIRE (3473)

To report a forest fire located south of the French or Mattawa rivers, please dial 911.
