There are no new cases to report in the region today, but there are nine more recoveries.

Public Health Sudbury & Districts has changed how it presents updates to the local COVID-19 pandemic situation. Updates are now released at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays, and at 4 p.m. on weekends.

Three people are currently admitted to hospital awaiting test results for COVID-19.

There have been 214 total confirmed cases in the region covered by Public Health Sudbury & Districts. Of, those 196 have been in the city of Greater Sudbury, with 12 in the Sudbury District and just six on Manitoulin Island.

About half (106) came about as a result of close contact with another known confirmed case. Thirty-one are associated with outbreaks. Eleven outbreaks have been declared with only one, at Pioneer Manor's Lilac and Mallard units, still counted as active. One case has been associated with that outbreak.

Twenty-seven cases are travel-related. There have been 48 confirmed cases for which contact tracing could not identify the source of the transmission.

Information on two cases remains pending or missing, the health unit hasn't specified which.

Two people have died in the region from COVID-19, both elderly. One was travel-related, while the other was a long-term care home resident.*

*An earlier version of this story stated both people who died were long-term care home residents. That has been corrected.
