No new evidence on missing woman following search of Junction Creek

Another round of Junction Creek searches took place April 24-25 for a missing woman named Parisa, but a police spokesperson told Sudbury.com that it didn’t yield any results

Another search of Junction creek has yielded no results for Greater Sudbury police in their search for a missing woman named Parisa.

A police spokesperson noted that the Ontario Provincial Police Underwater Search and Recovery Unit conducted a search of Junction Creek on April 24-25.

No new evidence or information was discovered related to the search for Paris.

The 39-year-old woman, identified by the name Parisa (no last name has been provided by police), was last seen at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 7 in the Corsi Hill area.

She is described as 5-4 tall, 105 pounds, with long, dark brown hair, brown eyes and a scar on her forehead. She was wearing a burgundy hooded winter jacket with fur on the hood, black leggings, black snow pants and black boots.

There are concerns for Parisa's well-being.

“Police are asking the residents of Corsi Hill to check any sheds or outbuildings on their property for Parisa, who may be seeking shelter from the elements,” Greater Sudbury Police said in a tweet sent out earlier this month, as the city experienced a spring snowstorm.

A ground and water search of the wooded area off Junction Creek between Kelly Lake Road and Martindale Road took place at mid-month.

Updated information confirmed that Parisa was seen on the trail on April 7 after leaving Corsi Hill.

Anyone with information related to Parisa's whereabouts is asked to contact police at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477.
