The Northern Cancer Foundation (NCF) launched a new Do-It-Yourself (DIY) online fundraising platform.
“Each year, Sudburians raise money through lemonade stands, school dress-down days, birthdays and athletic challenges, but COVID-19 has changed the way we are able to raise funds for charitable organizations like the NCF,” said a news release.
The NCF’s new DIY website gives interested fundraisers digital tools to create their own fundraiser and make raising money for cancer care in northeastern Ontario easy, fun and successful. It is also a great way for organizers to customize their own event.
With physical distancing guidelines in place, a virtual event is a great way to support the cause you’re passionate about while keeping you and your community safe, said Tannys Laughren, executive director, NCF.
“The health and safety of our donors and their friends and family is of the utmost importance,” said Laughren in a press release. “Having an easy-to-use online space for people to raise funds the way that best suits them is a great way to connect interested donors to the causes that they support the most.”

Interested donors can use the search function on the NCF DIY site to locate and donate to specific fundraisers.
