Almost 26 per cent of respondents said the funny business at city hall, which included long-time temporary public work staff losing their jobs followed by the departure of city CEO Jim Rule for British Columbia (packing a generous severance package), was the top story of the year.

Almost 21 per cent of respondents said the deaths on Highway 69 followed by the Tories? commitment to four-lane highway was the biggest story of the year. Some 15 per cent of respondents said the Kim Rogers inquest was the top story while 11 per cent said Sudbury?s shrinking population was the most important story of the year.
