The Sudbury Chapter of the Canadian Association of Retired Persons and Friendly to Seniors – Sudbury is holding an all-candidates meeting for the Sudbury riding this afternoon.

NorthernLife.ca will be live-streaming this debate, set to take place beginning at 2.30 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the Parkside Older Adult Centre on Durham Street.

In a news release, Hugh Kruzel, chair of CARP, and speaking on behalf of both seniors groups, said the election is of great importance to older adults who make up an increasing percentage of our population.

They are very concerned about a number of issues related not only to seniors but all citizens.

Topics to be addressed at the meetings will include taxes, housing, health and transportation, as well as support for the arts and other areas where federal involvement can be an influence and can impact the lives of residents in the two ridings.

The general public is invited to attend.
