The official opening and blessing ceremony for the new St. David Catholic Elementary School takes place this Friday.
The event will include indigenous drumming and smudging, a blessing by Bishop Marcel Damphousse, speeches by politicians and a ribbon cutting.
The new St. David building, which was expected to cost $8 million, houses junior kindergarten to Grade 6 students. It's located in a treed area on Frood Road.
The school was originally supposed to open in September 2015, but construction delays meant it opened its doors to students this September.
