"Yes Virgina, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist."
That is an excerpt from the most reprinted newspaper editorial ever. And it's as true today as it was back in 1897.
Another year of Sudbury.com's 12 Days of Kindness has come to an end, but we are incredibly moved by the spirit of generosity that is all around us.
We want to extend our gratitude to @homeENERGY for their goodwill in sponsoring the entire 12 Days of Kindness, all of our individual AOK sponsors and to the many people who took the time to share their stories of kindness through a nomination. We thank each and every one of those sponsors in the attached video.
But we do something else as well. Our very own Heather Green-Oliver doesn't just host our AOK videos, she is the driving force behind them. And she does it brilliantly. Heather never loses sight of our goal — to brighten the day of someone who really needs it, or to make a difference in the life of someone who needs some help.
And while we have a whole team to sift through nominations and plan out videos, it's Heather who conceives them and makes them happen. So, we thought we'd turn the tables this year and do an Act of Kindness on her.
She thought we were filming a thank you video for our sponsors (which we were). What Heather didn't know is that publisher Abbas Homayed and marketing manager Sharon Bowes would be crashing the shoot to surprise her with gifts! And boy was she surprised (we even made her tear up).
So check that out and take a moment to watch the video and check out the many sponsors who helped make 12 Days of Kindness happen this year. And if you have need of the services of any of our sponsors, we hope you'll give them a call.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone. Sudbury.com (and Heather Green-Oliver) will be back in the 2019 with even more Acts of Kindness.
