One person was injured and is now displaced after a fire at a Louis Street apartment caused minor damage, said Greater Sudbury Fire Service.
Firefighters responded to the fire at 3:40 p.m. on Jan. 13.
The resident of the apartment was evacuated, and the fire caused minor damage and moderate smoke damage. Damage is estimated at $1,000.
“Every home in Ontario must have a working smoke alarm on every story and in all sleeping areas,” said Greater Sudbury Fire Services in a press release. “Test your smoke alarms once a month and replace the battery every year. Smoke alarms can increase your chances of surviving a fire by up to 50 per cent.”
