A 60-year-old woman has passed away as a result of a fire at a bungalow on Victoria Street late last night.

The woman was transported to hospital, where resuscitative efforts were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead, according to Greater Sudbury Police.

Greater Sudbury Police and the Office of the Fire Marshal are currently attempting to determine the cause of the fire, and are assisting with the coroner's investigation.

At this time, there are no indications of foul play.

A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

The victim's name is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.

One person was injured in a fire at a bungalow on Victoria Street late last night.

Greater Sudbury Fire Services were called out to the fire just before 11 p.m. Dec. 19. One person was evacuated from the fire, and two people displaced.

Fire damage is minimal, but smoke damage is listed as severe. The total damages are estimated at $50,000.
