There were no new forest fires confirmed in the Northeast region by the late afternoon of June 4.

There is one remaining active fire in the Northeast; Kirkland Lake 1, located approximately two km north of Belle Vallée, is being observed at 15.8 hectares.

The fire hazard is low to moderate across the Northeast, with the exception of the Elliot Lake area which is showing a high hazard.

Help fight forest fires: Stay clear of waterbombers

When waterbombers approach a body of water, move close to the shore so they can perform their scoop safely. A waterbomber will not scoop from a lake or river if encroaching watercraft pose a safety hazard. Be safe, stay clear of waterbombers.
