Public Health Ontario reported 928 new COVID cases today.
The latest updates noted 879 recoveries and nine deaths.
The Dec. 7 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:
- Among the new cases reported today are 450 unvaccinated, 77 cases were reported with vaccination status unknown.
- 340 people in hospital are testing positive for COVID-19, which is up from 203 yesterday. There are 165 people in ICU due to COVID-19, including 144 people who are testing positive. There are 95 people on a ventilator in ICU.
- For cases in the hospital but not ICU, 90 people are unvaccinated, 12 are partially vaccinated and 64 are fully vaccinated. In ICU, there are 65 people unvaccinated, four partially vaccinated and 24 fully vaccinated.
- 11,879,574 people in Ontario (81 per cent of the population) are fully vaccinated, four per cent of the population is partially vaccinated.
- The seven-day average incidence rate by vaccination status is 13.8 cases per 100,000 unvaccinated people, 5.88 cases per 100,000 partially vaccinated people, and 3.8 cases per 100,000 fully vaccinated people.
- The province reported 26,136 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 3.8 per cent positivity rate.
- Today's new cases include 67 newborns to four-year-olds, 190 kids ages five to 11, 55 youth between 12 and 19 years old, 259 people between 20 and 39 years old, 227 people between 40 and 59 years old, 111 people between 60 and 79 years old, and 19 people over 79 years old.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 625,312 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 606,797 recoveries and 10,036 deaths.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 4,244 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average seven-day incidence rate from Nov. 27 to Dec. 3 was 43.8 cases per 100,000 people, which is up by 19 per cent compared to the seven-day period starting of Nov. 21.

Northern Ontario
In Northern Ontario, the breakdown of Public Health Ontario data is:
- Algoma Public Health: 1,324 cases, weekly rate of 196.9 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 1,326 cases. There are 246 known active cases.
- North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit: 935 cases, weekly rate of 17.8 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 938 cases. There are 28 known active cases.
- Porcupine Health Unit: 2,279 cases, weekly rate of 4.7 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 2,281 cases. There are 6 known active cases.
- Public Health Sudbury and Districts: 4,074 cases, weekly rate of 133 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 4,136 cases. There are 421 known active cases.
- Timiskaming Health Unit: 407 cases, weekly rate of 103.3 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 411 cases. There are 36 known active cases.
- Northwestern Health Unit: 1,250 cases, weekly rate of 22.2 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 1,242 cases. There are 18 known active cases.
- Thunder Bay District Health Unit: 3,699 cases, weekly rate of 72.3 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 3,696 cases. There are 137 known active cases.
