Ontario's COVID-19 death toll is now at 200

The number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Ontario jumped by 483 over the past day, with a total of 5,759 cases now reported in the province.

There have been another 26 deaths since yesterday, for a total of 200 people with COVID-19 now dying in Ontario.

There are also 2,305 “resolved cases,” meaning the person has recovered.

The Ontario Ministry of Health reports 88,698 people have been tested, and 1,208 people are still under investigation for COVID-19.

There are 632 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Ontario, with 264 in the ICU and 214 on a ventilator in the ICU.

Locally, Public Health Sudbury & Districts reported another two people have tested positive for COVID-19, the first cases reported in the region since Saturday.

There are a total of 28 confirmed positive cases in the region now.

One person has died, and there are 16 resolved cases. A total of 1,135 tests have been carried out by  Public Health Sudbury & Districts, with 882 negative tests and a further 275 people currently under investigation for COVID-19.

In Northern Ontario, there are now 114 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19. That's up from 106 yesterday. There were new cases reported in the Sudbury, Thunder Bay and Timmins areas over the past day.

In Canada as a whole, the number of COVID-19 cases now sits at 19,774, with 461 deaths.
