Update: Greater Sudbury Hydro has restored power to the 1,300 residents of the Flour Mill and Cambrian Heights areas. Power was knocked out this morning when a snow plow struck a hydro pole.

Some 1,300 residents of the Flour Mill are without power at this hour after a snow plow struck a utility pole a few minutes ago.

"Cold day for a power outage, but a plow hit a pole. 1300 in Flour Mill/Cambrian Heights area affected. Crews on it," Greater Sudbury Utilities tweeted at 11:20 a.m. today.

The utility expects to have the power back on by 1 p.m.
