Our Children, Our Future is looking to the community to help win a national charity contest.

The grand prize of $10,000 would help the organization care for and feed many more young children in need of healthy food in our community, said a press release.

“We are committed to securing a better and healthier future for children and their families through positive learning, socialization, parent education, nutrition and food programs. We are aware that access to, and distribution of healthy food has been and continues to be a challenge in our community.

Many of the organization's programs and services seek to alleviate some of the stress that food insecurity places on families. With an extra $10,000, the Our Children, Our Future could continue to assist more local families with young children who need real help right now.

“To a small child, knowing that someone cares and believes in you can make a huge difference — this funding would make a significant impact and a great difference in the lives of children in our community.”

For the entire month of June, Our Children, Our Future is participating in the Great Canadian Giving Challenge, a national public contest to benefit registered charities from coast-to-coast.

For every dollar donated to Our Children, Our Future, via CanadaHelps.org or GivingChallenge.ca, the organization is automatically entered in a competition to win an additional $10,000.00 prize.

The grand prize draw is on Canada Day.

“The Giving Challenge campaign is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to join with Our Children, Our Future and help us make a difference and champion the cause of helping those children and families in our communities who are most in need.” said executive director Susan Nicholson.
