Greater Sudbury Hydro is advising customers in Capreol that they may experience brief, rolling power outages on Saturday, June 27 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

GSH will be lowering overhead power lines along Dennie Street in Capreol to facilitate the transport of an oversized load from Hydro One’s Hanmer Transmission Station to the Capreol sideline on Railway Avenue.

As the load passes, the lines will be reconnected. Outage durations will range from 10 to 30 minutes.

This oversized load is more than 7.5 metres high and will be moving slowly from the Hanmer Transmission Station to the railway sideline loading area in Capreol.

The utility asks that people keep well back and allow both workers and fellow citizens physical distance both for safety and to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

You may want to ensure that any computerized equipment is turned off prior to these rolling interruptions. Also, note that most cordless phones and garage doors will not operate during a power interruption.
