Larry Killens, a Rainbow District School Board trustee barred from all school board meetings until his term is up at the end of November, is getting some support from a group of local parents.

A protest will take place outside of the Rainbow District School Board office on Wembley Drive starting at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 28. That's just before the school board's August meeting, which starts at around 5:15 p.m. The parents say they're planning to wear pink clothing at the protest to promote anti-bullying.

Killens, who is not seeking re-election this fall, plans to try to take his seat at the meeting, despite the ban. He said under the Education Act, he cannot be banned from more than one meeting for the code of conduct violations he's accused of by the board.
