On Saturday, Sept. 14, there will be a peace troupe workshop at the Kinsmen Hall in Lively.
This will be a participatory workshop dealing with non-violent ways of dealing with various types of conflict.
The workshop will include role-playing exercises and group discussions and look at how our faith heritage often directs attitudes towards violence.
Leaders will explore non-violent methods for dealing with conflict and examine bible passages to discern and discuss what methods and messages society is given to in confronting violence.
Facilitators of the workshop include Brian Burch, president of the St. Clair Multi-Faith Housing Project in Toronto, and Sarah Cardey, who has worked with the Canadian International Development Agency in Haiti and China.
The workshop will run from 9 am to 4 pm and a light lunch will be provided.
