Photos: Having a blast at Capreol Days

More than 30 years old, Capreol Days was the place to be this weekend

Capreol Days was the place to be this weekend.

A new committee took the reins of the more than 30-year-old event this year, packing several days of fun into the community in the northern part of the City of Greater Sudbury.

Activities were spread all over the community. Capreol Arena hosted a comic convention and kids activities. There was fun to be had at the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre.

Young Street was closed to vehicle traffic and featured an outdoor market, live music and children’s games.

Capreol Days featured a pro-wrestling event and Comic Con-style day featuring Dadpool (a Deadpool-like character) and his car, vendors and special guest
George Todorovski (and his editor Rene Vriend), a Toronto-based writer and comic book artist whose work has appeared in such publications as Heavy Metal and Amazing Stories.

Folks could check out a scary carnival fun house from the producers of Northern Screams and Capreol Terror Train, the Capreol market, ducky races, a dunk tank, pancake breakfast and a “Valley’s Got Talent” competition as well.
