Local athletes, police and law enforcement personnel carried the Torch of Hope through Sudbury on Monday

The run began at Science North and finished in Memorial Park.

Greater Sudbury Police chief Paul Pedersen said it was the biggest turnout thus far for Greater Sudbury.

"Worldwide, 97-thousand police officers and law enforcement personnel carry that Flame of Hope," Chief Pedersen said. "The partnership between policing and Special Olympics is a partnership that matters."
