The competition was fierce at the 2017 Great Robotic Challenge at the Science North Cavern on April 26.
One hundred Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) students went head-to-head building robots that tested strength and precision as well as the programming and level of control by its student masters.
Each team is required to build a robot made from LEGO EV3 and NXT blocks that were tested in two different contests. Because the robots have to accomplish different tasks, students are able to modify the construction and programming of their machines between each trail.
Prizes were awarded for efficiency, quality of school banners and best team cheer.
