Update:

The aircraft has been located as well as the pilot who is in good health, Sudbury police said Sunday evening. 

"Emergency services has made contact with the pilot and his canine companion," a news release said. "The pilot is being transported to Health Sciences North as a precautionary measure.

"Greater Sudbury Police Service would like to thank and recognize the professionalism of all first responders in this matter as well as Department of National Defence Search and Rescue technicians from CFB Trenton."

Few details are available, but a plane crashed Sunday north of the city, Greater Sudbury Police said in a news release. 

Police got the call just before 5 p.m. and responded along Emergency Medical Services and Sudbury Fire Services.

“Search and rescue technicians and search and rescue aircraft from Canadian Forces Base Trenton are working collaboratively with Greater Sudbury Police Service and Sudbury Fire Services in this matter,” the release said.

Police confirmed it was not a commercial plane, but said other details are still being confirmed and will offer an update later Sunday evening.
