SNOLAB and the Doran Planetarium at Laurentian University are teaming up for a Nov. 23 panel discussion on the new space race.
Entitled "Co-petition: Advancing Collaboration for Scientific Exploration in the New Era of Space Race", the public panel discussion “is a petition for peace and knowledge,” organizers said in a news release.
“The panel will include four scientists from different nationalities. They represent key or rising players in the race. They will reveal what is happening, what the projects mean and how international competition may become collaboration and cooperation.”
Because the event is at the planetarium, the afternoon will include a night sky show in the planetarium with live music, including a performance of the song "Grandmother Moon" by Eleanor Daley based on the poem by poet Mary Louise Martin.
The event is Nov. 23 from 2-3:25 p.m. at the Doran Planetarium at Laurentian University. Admission is free but a cash donation is requested. Please RSVP to [email protected].
