With the warmer weather arriving, Greater Sudbury Police Service have issued warnings to residents about keeping off area lakes, rivers and streams. Children especially must be cautious around when playing near bodies of water.

However, these warning obviously aren?t being taken seriously because police are still receiving reports as late as Friday about motor vehicles being driven across Ramsey Lake. This is a very dangerous practice than impacts not only the lives of those in the vehicles but also the emergency personnel who must respond and rescue the people should the vehicle break through the ice.

The police want to remind residents that ice condition change very dramatically in short period of time and to play it safe by staying off the ice.
