Greater Sudbury Police Service is reminding pet owners to leave their pets at home after an officer rescued a dog from a parked car today.

The police posted a thank you for a concerned citizen to their Facebook page this afternoon.

"A huge thank you to the concerned citizens who flagged down Constable Weber after seeing this furry little guy inside of a parked vehicle for a prolonged period of time." GSPS wrote in a post on Facebook on June 16.

"Constable Weber was able to get the car door open and the puppy some water."
