All power was restored to affected customers as of 7:15 a.m. Hydro One said the outage was caused by an equipment failure.

Nearly 5,500 Hydro One customers are without power in the Rayside Balfour area this morning.

The outage started at 2:26 a.m. Crews are on site investigating, and it's estimated power will be restored by 10:30 a.m.

The reason for the power interruption is unknown at this time.

The affected areas include the following townships: Rayside, Blezard, Morgan, Balfour, Azilda, Chelmsford and Snider.
