A widespread power outage that affected approximately 4,350 homes and businesses is now restored.

Announced by Greater Sudbury Utilities (GSU) just before 5 a.m. this morning, the outage covered areas including Ramsey Lake Road, Paris Street, Lockerby, Lorne Street, the Donovan and surrounding areas. Crews responded immediately, as the cause was unknown at the time.

As of 6:00 a.m., power has been restored to all. The cause, according to a release from GSU, was a fault on an underground 44KV line.
