If you happened to notice that the McGill Street water tower in the Lively area was gushing water Saturday, it was as a result of the power outage, and it has been dealt with.

Eve Garber posted a video of the strange sight on the Facebook community message board “Ward 2 Community Board” Saturday, writing “Don't think this is supposed to happen.”

Ward 2 Coun. Michael Vagnini later thanked community members for bringing the issue to his attention, saying he called it into the city.

“When water drops below a certain level, a valve opens from McGill Street and fills the tower,” he wrote. “Because the power was out, the sensor did not tell the valve to close. Hence the overflow, but it has been addressed.”
