Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne will be spending the day in Sudbury on Aug. 6, the first stop on a six day visit around Northern Ontario.
During the week, the Premier will be announcing a series of investments relating to infrastructure, health care and other measures to enhance public services.
Wynne will start her day in Sudbury at Landry Farm in Hanmer where she will be joined by Ministers Marie-France Lalonde, Eleanor McMahon, and Glenn Thibeault for an announcement.
The Premier will deliver remards at a community BBQ hosted by Glenn Thubeault at the Royal Canadian Branch 76 on Weller Street in the afternoon before she makes her way to the newly opened Northern Water Sports Centre.
While at the centre, Wynne and the ministers will take part in a paddle on Ramsey Lake.
Wynne closes her day by participating in a grand entry at the Chi Pow Wow at the Laurentian University athletic track at 7 p.m.
On Sunday, Aug. 7, Wynne will be spending the morning in Espanola, before travelling to the Manitoulin Country Fest in Little Current. She will also make stops at Miners Memorial Park and Westview Park in Elliot Lake.
During her six day trip, Wynne will also be visiting Blind River, Sault Ste. Marie, Batchawana Bay, Wawa, Fort Frances, Emo, Dryden, Kenora, Sioux Lookout, Moosonee, Moose Factory, North Bay, New Liskeard, and Kirkland Lake.
“I'm looking forward to visiting Northern Ontario to talk about our government's investments to support a vibrant and competitive economy across Northern Ontario and to enhance the services that people count on,” said Wynne in a news release.
“We are building on the North's many strengths as part of our efforts to ensure that everyone in Ontario can enjoy a high quality of life.”
