Princess Anne school hosts the second annual inter-board chess tournament

On May 16, 160 strategy masters from 14 different schools faced off across the board at Princess Anne Public School, in the second annual all-day inter-board chess tournament.

Librarian and chess coach Fiona Ferguson said the tournament received twice the amount of registrations as last year, showing that the sport is growing in popularity. 

Results are as follows:

Tournament Champions - Algonquin Road Public School

Primary Division Winner - Fengning Ye (R. L. Beattie Public School)

Primary Division Runner-Up - Hanning Ye (R. L. Beattie Public School)

Junior Division Winner - Seth Boucher (Carl Nesbitt Public School)

Junior Division Runner-Up - Malcolm Boczek (Algonquin Road Public School)

Intermediate Division Winner - Charlie Schwendener (Princess Anne Public School)

Intermediate Division Runner-Up - Max Cirillo (Churchill Public School)
