Public Health Sudbury and Districts (PHSD) has reported three new cases today. This is a change of five fewer cases from the eight new cases reported on Wednesday.

This is the lowest daily total since Jan. 4, which was also a day that three cases were reported.

PHSD said these additional cases indicate that there are now 73 active cases being monitored in the Sudbury health unit jurisdiction. This also indicates that several of the previously active cases have been resolved in the past 24 hours.

This means that since daily case tracking began by the health unit back in March of 2020, there have been 383 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 310 of those cases listed as resolved.

The daily update page provided by PHSD revealed that all three of the new cases had occurred in the Greater Sudbury area. With respect to the possible cause of the infections, PHSD reports "information pending or missing".

At the provincial level today (January 14, 2021) it was revealed there were 3326 new COVID-19 cases reported for all of Ontario. There were also 62 new COVID-19 deaths reported for Ontario.
