Public Health Sudbury reports no new COVID-19 cases for Feb. 22

Sudbury health district now has 21 active cases being monitored locally

Public Health Sudbury and District (PHSD) revealed Monday that there are no new cases of COVID-19 in the area. It was also reported there are now only 21 cases being actively monitored.
With three recoveries included in today’s update, the number of active known cases in the region has fallen to 24.

Since the pandemic was declared in March 2020, there have been 583 total COVID-19 cases reported to the Sudbury health unit, with 562 of those cases being resolved locally. 

The latest numbers were revealed on the PHSD daily website

At Sudbury's Health Sciences North hospital, there are six patients confirmed with COVID-19 for today, Feb. 22. According to the HSN daily update web page, two of those patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). There are two additional admitted patients currently being investigated for COVID-19 at this time. Neither is being treated in the ICU. 

On the provincial COVID-19 report today, the Ontario government daily website reported 1,058 new confirmed COVID-19 cases across the province. Also today, the province reported 11 new deaths had occurred in the previous 24 hours.
