The Sudbury Community Garden Network invites all Sudbury residents who have grown Russian Mammoth Sunflowers — and their admirers — to come to the judging event next month.
The event takes place Oct. 1 at The Market on Elgin Street*** from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The winners are expected to be announced at 1 p.m. The event is free to attend.
The biggest sunflower head and the tallest sunflower growers will get a prize. The children’s prizes are donated by Topper’s Pizza.
This event is the first for Sudbury to create awareness for the great network of gardeners that exist in this city and the community gardens that are on offer.
The Sudbury Community Garden Network is an information and resource-sharing network that supports the development of community gardens across the City of Greater Sudbury and surrounding areas.
