Publisher to address graduating class

Mills will also deliver the convocation address to students graduating from community and human services, health sciences, Anishnaabe studies, creative art, and law and justice.

The award honours a graduate from the college who has made outstanding contributions to the college and the community.

Mills graduated from Cambrian in 1990 and worked at Northern Life for seven years before moving to sister publication, Northern Ontario Business.

During her time at Northern Life, she won several national and provincial awards.

She has been publisher at Northern Ontario Business since 2000. She has taught journalism students at Cambrian and is a member of the journalism program?s advisory board.

Former Ontario treasurer Floyd Laughren will address students graduating next Tuesday evening. The former Cambrian instructor is the winner of the Dr. Fred Sheridan Award. The award recognizes the former Nickel Belt MPP?s contribution to education. Laughren is the current chair of the Ontario Energy Board.

Cambrian will graduate 1,300 students during the two ceremonies.
