Closed since June due to fire damages, the refurbished Gatchell Pool in Sudbury's West End is now open with swimming and aquatic programs starting this week.
Visitors to the pool will notice a a significant changes to the interior and exterior of the building including a new roof and repainting the entire facility. New pool equipment has also been purchased to replace items damaged by smoke or fire.
To celebrate the the opening of the pool, there will be free public swimming on Nov. 19 and 20 between 1:30 and 4:30 pm at Gatchell Pool, located at 43 Irving St.
