Attention drivers: CN and CP are repairing rail crossings in Greater Sudbury over the next month or so.

This weekend, that will mean Falconbridge Road — yes, you read that correctly, one of the city's main thoroughfares — will be closed started at 6 a.m. on June 25 (Saturday) until 6 a.m. on June 27 (Monday).

Detour signs are posted. Obviously, the city is "encouraging" residents to find alternate routes.

The work will not impact city transit routes, the city says.

In a news release, the city said staff has hand delivered construction notices to residents in the immediate area.

Local businesses have been visited to advise of the closure and address any concerns.

Access to businesses in the immediate will be maintained. The city thanks residents and businesses for their patience as we work with CN and CP to improve rail crossings in our community.
