Residents in the Sudbury water service area, including the former City of Sudbury, New Sudbury, West Garson, Coniston, Wahnapitae and Markstay, are being asked to conserve water by reducing non-essential uses during intermittent shutdowns of the David Street Water Treatment Plant from Monday through Thursday of this week.

Periodic shutdowns are necessary while crews continue to decommission parts of the old water treatment plant that were used as backup during construction of the new and improved David Street facility.

Affected areas will continue to receive municipal water service from the Wanapitei Water Treatment Plant and from the Ellis Reservoir.

Residents may notice water discoloration or pressure fluctuations. If there is prolonged water discoloration, it should be reported to the City of Greater Sudbury's operations division at 560-2022.
