Road report: Traffic will slow in these areas over the next week

Drivers take note: paving, ditching and other work that will impact traffic flow are being conducted in various areas of the city over the next week.

Starting today and last until mid-July, the city is doing asphalt paving and ditching that will close one lane of traffic on Donald Street, Maple Street, Oak Street and Marier Street in Azilda. The Streets will remain open with traffic down to one lane at times. Flag persons will be on-site directing traffic. Work will be done from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Gutcher Avenue: A new water main installation and roadway reconstruction will close Gutcher from Lorne Street to Irving Street starting Tuesday and lasting until June 30. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will have access at all times. Work will be done from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Walford Road: A private contractor will close the westbound curb lane on Walford Road, in front of the Lockerby Playground from May 23 to May 26 for repair work. Work will be done from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Notre Dame Avenue: A private contractor will close the southbound curb lane on Notre Dame Avenue off of Turner Avenue on Sunday, May 21 to install a road sign. Work will be done from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
