The Greater Sudbury Police Service in partnership with Safe Ride Home Sudbury will kick off the Safe Ride Home Sudbury Campaign on Nov. 7.

Thursday night will be the first event leading up to this season’s festive RIDE campaign that will continue throughout November until Dec. 31.

The Traffic Management Unit is a proud partner of this initiative and will be conducting a RIDE spot-check tonight.

Safe Ride Home Sudbury is a not-for-profit, volunteer driven organization where individuals are driven home in their own vehicle by a team of volunteers.

Transportation services through Safe Ride Home Sudbury officially begin on Friday Nov. 15 at 8 p.m.

"The Greater Sudbury Police Service is proud to partner with Safe Ride Home Sudbury," said a news release from GSPS.

"The efforts of all those involved including the organizers, sponsors and volunteers demonstrates a shared commitment to eliminating impaired driving from our roadways."
