The Greater Sudbury Police Service in partnership with Safe Ride Home Sudbury will launch the Safe Ride Home Campaign on Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Officers will be conducting RIDE spot-checks at the event launch, ahead of the official holiday season RIDE campaign, which gets underway on Nov. 28 and runs until Dec. 31.

"The Greater Sudbury Police Service is a proud partner of this initiative and the Traffic Management Unit will be setting up a RIDE spot-check at this location," said a GSPS news release.

Safe Ride Home Sudbury is a not-for-profit, volunteer driven organization that ensures community members and their vehicles have a safe and sober ride home.

"The efforts of all those involved including the organizers, sponsors and volunteers demonstrates a shared commitment to community safety and well-being with an ultimate goal of eliminating impaired driving," said the GSPS news release.
