Salvation Army receives generous holiday donation

Lougheed Foundation and Sudbury Sunrisers make donations to Christmas Kettle Campaign

The Salvation Army received a significant donation for their Christmas Kettle Campaign, thanks to the generosity of the Lougheed Foundation.

Gerry Lougheed Jr. and Geoffrey Lougheed presented the Salvation Army with a $50,000 cheque to kick off their campaign. The Lougheed Family has had a long relationship with the Salvation Army with both Gerry Lougheed Sr. and Geoffrey Lougheed serving on the advisory board.

The Rotary Club of Sudbury Sunrisers made history on Thursday, Nov. 21, as they manned all the Salvation Army Kettles in Sudbury from 4-8 p.m. and raised approximately $2600 which was doubled by the Lougheed Foundation.

A total of 36 club members rang the bells, maintaining the long history of helping the Salvation Army Kettle Drive. If you want to ring the bells, please call Lyn or Dayna at the Salvation Army (705) 919-1375.
