Saturday’s ‘Rally for Dad’ raised $25K for prostate cancer treatment

More than 150 riders roared through Verner and N?öelville during annual fundraising motorcycle rally

The 15th annual Northern Cancer Foundation “Rally for Dad” on Saturday raised some $25,000 for prostate cancer-specific equipment here in Sudbury.

The annual fundrasier saw more than 150 motorcycle riders roar along the roadways in a more than 200-kilometre route that took them through Verner and Noëlville, before returning to A&W on 1099 Marcus Drive for lunch, prizes and live entertainment.

“There’s something particularly powerful about the Rally for Dad,” says Tannys Laughren, executive director of the Northern Cancer Foundation. “Seeing all of the bikes ride off from the Northeast Cancer Centre is quite the sight. It gets pretty emotional.”

The foundation thanked the event’s presenting sponsor, A&W, and the events many other sponsors, “for their amazing support and going above and beyond to help us make the Rally for Dad the best event it could be.”
