Its finally starting to look a lot like spring. That means you also have a chance to step outside and soak in the Vitamin D that we have been deprived off for the past months.

Today also happens to be Earth Day.  A global event that brings environmental issues to the forefront and allows everyone to get involved.

According to organizers of the event worldwide, one of the biggest challenge that our environment faces is plastic pollution.

This year’s event is aimed at raising awareness and providing motivation to counter the rampant plastic pollution.

Plastic cans, water bottles, utensils aren’t the only part of the problem. Plastics from our clothes, electronics, cars etc. also add to the pollution. These often end up in landfills or finds its way into the waterways and is affecting aquatic life.

This Earth Day you are encouraged to help end plastic pollution. Send us some of your suggestions on how Sudbury can combat the plastic problem.

Also, send us your photos of soaking up the sun as you gear up for Earth Day to be featured in our photo-gallery.
