Two Sudbury school boards have ratified collective bargaining union contracts with their employees.
On Nov. 25, the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) ratified four collective bargaining union contracts.
The contracts include supply teachers (Association des Enseignantes et Enseignants Franco-Ontariens du Moyen-Nord), office staff, educators and lunch-time supervisors (Unit 61 of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation) and janitorial, warehouse, building and maintenance staff (Canadian Union of Public Employees).
Since the agreement for regular teaching staff was signed on Oct. 28, the CSCNO has now concluded agreements with all of its union partners.
The collective bargaining agreements expire in four years. Annual salary increases of three per cent, as well as improvements to conditions of employment and fringe benefits, were agreed to in each of the contracts, that came into effect on Sept. 1.
As well, on Nov. 27, the Rainbow District School Board ratified three more collective agreements with professional student services personnel and educational support staff (both represented by (represented by OSSTF District 3) and educational assistants and communicative disorder assistants (represented by OPSEU Local 814) in Rainbow schools.
This concludes negotiations with Rainbow District School Board’s non-teaching employee groups. The deals, in effect until Aug. 31, 2012, provide for a salary increase of 12.5 per cent over four years, as well as enhancements to staffing and benefits established under a Provincial Discussion Table agreement.
Rainbow District School Board continues negotiations with the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (District 3) representing 400 secondary school teachers and the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (Rainbow Local) representing 600 elementary teachers. Provincial Discussion Table agreements have been reached with all employee groups, except ETFO.
